Storage space

The storage space included in your plan, what counts and what to do when it is full.

Space included in your plan

Each organization has storage space for its media files, which depends on its plan:

PlanStorage space
Free500 MB
Basic2 GB
Pro20 GB

The space used is shown at the top of the media library, next to the tabs, as “Storage: used of total”, with a gauge.

What counts

  • The size of the original file of each media file you upload.
  • Media files in the trash: they keep counting until they are permanently deleted.
  • Uploads in progress: a file’s size is reserved as soon as its upload starts. If you cancel the upload, the reserved space is released.

The versions Pixlova prepares for your screens do not count: the playback version (for example a converted video), the Full HD version and the thumbnails.

When the space is full

When there is not enough space left for a new file, its upload is rejected with the message “Not enough storage space.”. Your existing media files are not affected: nothing is deleted, and your screens keep showing their content.

To free up space:

  1. Find the media files you no longer need (the All types and All states filters help you spot heavy videos or failed media files; each media file’s size is shown under its name).
  2. Move them to the trash.
  3. Open the Trash tab, then delete them permanently with Delete permanently.

The trash takes up space

Moving a media file to the trash does not free any space. Space is only freed by permanent deletion, whether you do it yourself or it happens on the date shown in the trash.

You can also reduce the size of your files before uploading them, for example by exporting your videos at your screens’ resolution.

Get more space

  • Change plan: the Basic and Pro plans include more space. See Plans and billing.
  • Extra storage: if you need more space than your plan includes, Pixlova can grant you extra storage on request. Contact Pixlova to ask for it.
