Two-factor authentication
Protect your account with a code from an authenticator app, in addition to the code received by email.
Two-factor authentication adds a second check at each sign-in: after the code or link received by email, Pixlova asks for a 6-digit code shown by an authenticator app on your phone. Someone who gained access to your mailbox could not sign in without your phone.
You need an authenticator app on your phone (any app that reads a QR code and gives 6-digit codes that change every 30 seconds).
Required for administrators
If your role in an organization is Owner, Administrator or Billing manager, some administration actions, such as managing the team and invitations or changing the subscription, are refused until you turn on two-factor authentication. The application then asks you to turn it on for this action.
Turn on two-factor authentication
Start
Open My account (person icon at the top right, then My account and settings). In the Two-factor authentication card, click Turn on with an authenticator app.
Confirm it’s you
A Confirm it’s you window opens and a confirmation code is sent to your email address. You can open your mailbox in another tab: the window stays open in the application. Type the code in Code received by email, then click Confirm.
Scan the QR code
Scan the QR code shown with your authenticator app. If you cannot scan it, enter the key shown under Key: in the app instead.
Enter the code
Type the 6-digit code shown by the app in 6-digit code, then click Confirm.
Save your recovery codes
Pixlova shows 10 Recovery codes. Keep them somewhere safe (password manager, printed sheet kept in a safe place…). Each one works only once, and they will not be shown again. Click I have saved my codes.
The card now shows Two-factor authentication: on, and you receive a confirmation email.
Sign in with two-factor authentication
After the email code or link, the Two-factor authentication page opens:
- Open your authenticator app.
- Type the code shown in 6-digit code.
- Click Confirm.
You do not have your phone
On the same page, click Use a recovery code, type one of your recovery codes in Recovery code, then click Confirm. Each recovery code works only once. Use the authenticator app takes you back to the 6-digit code.
Phone and recovery codes lost
Without your phone or a recovery code, you cannot sign in. Contact Pixlova support.
Turn off two-factor authentication
- Open My account.
- In the Two-factor authentication: on card, type the code currently shown by your app in Current 6-digit code.
- Click Turn off.
- If the Confirm it’s you window opens, type the code received by email and click Confirm.
You receive an email confirming that two-factor authentication has been turned off. If you receive such an email without having done anything, contact support.
Changing phones
To move to a new phone, turn off two-factor authentication with your old phone, then turn it on again by scanning the new QR code with the new phone. You will receive new recovery codes.
